About Andrei
Andrei Matei has been playing, promoting, and organizing musical events in Austin, TX for the last 14 years. Having opened for acts such as T-Pain, Ghostland Observatory, Bob Schneider, Michael Salgado, Camo & Krooked, and Jayceeoh, along with running multi-year residencies and working with select brand partners, Andrei has a diverse set of experience in the central Texas music scene.
Andrei’s knowledge and love for a wide variety of music has earned him a spot as one of the several well-rounded selectors in the city. Playing anything from classic to current Hip-Hop & R&B along with Latin, Funk, Disco, Soul, Reggae, Dancehall and Afrobeats tracks, the depth of Andrei’s library keeps his sets fresh, varied, and applicable to the requirements of a particular party.
In the past several years, Andrei maintained multiple monthly residencies in Austin which included being a founding member of The Friday Night Get Down, an Eastside 70’s Funk, 80’s Boogie, 90’s Golden Era Hip-Hop party, {abstraKt}, a Deep House night, and “Vibe Night”, his monthly 90's / 2000's throwback cocktail party at the Firehouse Lounge.
