Andrei Matei has been DJing for the last 16 years with a focus on curating distinctive, selector-style sets that draw upon a wide range of global influences.

Having opened for artists including T-Pain, Ghostland Observatory, Chromeo, Bob Schneider, Michael Salgado, Camo & Krooked, and Jayceeoh, along with national and international appearances including at F1 (2023, 2024, 2025) and The Grammys (2024), Andrei has a diverse set of experience playing, organizing, and promoting a wide variety of events.

Andrei’s knowledge and love for a broad range of music has positioned him as a versatile performer for a wide range of parties and events. Playing anything from classic to current Hip-Hop & RnB along with Latin, Funk, Disco, Soul, Dancehall, and Afrobeats tracks, the depth of Andrei’s library keeps his sets fresh, varied, and applicable to the particular crowd, event, and venue.

In the past several years, Andrei maintained multiple monthly residencies in Austin which included being a founding member of The Friday Night Get Down, an Eastside 70’s Funk, 80’s Boogie, 90’s Golden Era Hip-Hop party, {abstraKt}, a Deep House night, and “Vibe Night”, his monthly 90's / 2000's throwback cocktail party at the Firehouse Lounge and Sky Lounge.

Andrei has also been known to play DnB and Jungle under his alias “Harddrive”, and was a showcasing artist at SxSW in both 2016 and 2018.

When not behind the decks, Andrei assists DJs and venues all over Central Texas with their sound engineering needs whether it be live sound, installed system consultation, and system tuning.
